Wardrobe Tipping

You guys had a great article on Acting Etiquette, but one that was missed that I've always been curious about was how much and when you are supposed to tip your wardrobe person. I've heard only tip on large contracts, only tip if they were show dressers...I've heard a lot about percentages too. Any advice?

re: Wardrobe Tipping

I've been a show dresser for community theatre, wish I'd gotten tips! LOL ;)

Wardrobe Tipping

Lord, wouldn't we all...

Try this next time:
Hang a note in plain view backstage...
YOUR COSTUME...LAUNDERED: Complimentary.
YOUR COSTUME...IRONED: $1.00 per item
YOUR COSTUME...ON A HANGER: $.50 per laundering.
YOUR COSTUME...BAGGED, WITH YOUR NAME ON IT: $.50 per laundering.
(When anyone in a theatre company launders my costume, I'm freakin' STUNNED...I normally asked to supply my own wardrobe and launder it myself.)

Best, K.K.
