I heard the best way to get an agent if you have some credits is to do a mailing. My friend used a mailing service called Smart Girls Productions and she got an agent pretty fast. I think a good season to get an agent is during fall. Submit to as many as possible with those clear envelopes and intervew before pilot season starts in January. That will put you ahead in the game, so when you get there you are almost set.
