Hey, I'm just entering my senior year in high school and I'm concerned about my future. I know I want to pursue a career in acting, yet I'm unsure whether I should attend college for it or just jump in. I'm already 18 and I feel like I'm running out of time; I haven't done any acting outside of school and I'm afraid that with college the only thing I'd end up doing is putting myself in debt [which is a big concern because I'm not even remotely rich and I doubt I could pay the tuition fees of with waiting tables and whatever money I get from acting]. Please someone give me advice on what to do!

advice
Hi Dan,
In my opinion, I think you should go for it. Going to college may make you more competitive as an actor, but over all talent beats education. At the end of the day, casting agents are interested in what you have to offer as an actor and not looking for a diploma. My advice to you is to find a workshop that you can join to continue to educate yourself in your craft, then maybe focus on getting as much experience as possible doing small acting gigs to build up your resume. When you are confident enough, move to a bigger market and get an agent to get bigger roles. I wish you the best of luck. Sometimes I wish acting didn't choose me because it's so hard but in the end, it's completely worthed it. And don't let others around you influence you to go to college. In the end, the choice belongs to you.
