Oh, how I hate waiting to hear back from casting directors! All the wrenching and doubting are worse than rejection itself ~ at least once a cast list has been posted, I can move on. But today is a waiting day, and everything is up in the air.

This director, Dan, said last night at call-backs that he would call to offer lead parts and then send out a cast list via email. So I’ve changed my voicemail to something a little more professional, have my cell phone at my side, am checking my email every few minutes and haven’t done a lick of work (OK, maybe a few little licks).

Yesterday I completed my first-ever movie audition.
While I have no expectation of anything coming of it, I do want to record my experience because that’s why I went ~ for the experience.
I read in a local newspaper that a young movie star was signed on to star in a movie being filmed here. Extras were sought, and those interested were directed to an area talent agency. I immediately emailed my headshot and contact info, then received a response from the casting director to set up an audition with the agent. Cool!
