Improv is about discovery, not comedy; about honest connections not jokes. The humor that the audience enjoys is simply a fruit of a troupe of improvisors connecting together on stage. The comedy emerges from the moment actors on stage improvise a scene realistically. Del Close had it right when he said that improv is based in truth and the comedy emerges from it.
Any questions you have about improv are welcome.
Cheers,
Mike
